The U.S. Army awards Winchester Ammunition with $20 million in contracts for the 6.8 mm Next Generation Squad Weapons (NGSW) program.
The U.S. Army has awarded Winchester with a $13 million contract for the development of manufacturing processes for the 7.62 mm cartridge.
This is the third consecutive second-source contract for Olin Winchester.
Trailers filled with 5.56 NATO and .50-cal. ammunition are headed around the globe from the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. On Oct. 1, Winchester Ammunition took over operation of the historic Lake City Plant.
Winchester is now the world’s largest small arms ammunition manufacturer.
