About a decade ago, college rifle clubs without an NCAA ranking had only their own intramural matches to compete in, with no national end-of-year recognition. This changed when the NRA debuted its NRA Intercollegiate Club Championship in April of 2010 at Purdue University.

A cut-above-the-rest is one way to describe those individuals who earn the NRA All-American title. Created by NRA in 1936, the award was meant to honor top-collegiate rifle shooters and has become a crowning goal for collegiate student-athletes.
