Trapshooters can start the year off right at the 2022 Spring Satellite Grand American match next month.

At age 40, Darryl Hayes is the youngest president in the history of the Amateur Trapshooting Association, and the first person of color to hold the office. The new head of the ATA discusses his road into trapshooting and shares his vision for the future.

Trapshooting dates back to 18th century England, where competitors would shoot at live pigeons released from cages called "traps."

The Federal-sponsored shooter is the third youngest to ever to earn a Grand Slam. Less than 500 shooters around the world have completed their Grand Slams.

Due to a decision by Illinois state officials, the Grand American will be hosted by the Missouri Trapshooters Association at a facility in Linn Creek, MO, instead of the World Shooting Complex in Sparta, IL, this August.
