A Swiss Schuetzenfest: The World’s Largest Rifle Match
The largest rifle shooting match in the world is Schuetzenfest, held every five years in a different part of Switzerland. It’s much more than just a rifle match, however, with about 50,000 people attending what’s essentially a giant festival that dates back to medieval times. What’s more, because the population of Switzerland is about 8.5 million, about 8 percent of Swiss people head to the month-long Schuetzenfest.
