In order for USA Shooting to qualify for competition in an event at the Olympic games, an athlete must win a quota slot in the event. For Paris 2024, USA Shooting currently has five out of the eight possible quotas for air gun. Although up to two athletes can be named to the Olympic team in each event, on Sunday, January 7, USA Shooting will name the Olympic team members in the following events:

  • Women’s Air Pistol (two athletes)
  • Women’s Air Rifle (two athletes)
  • Men’s Air Rifle (one athlete)

USA Shooting athletes will be competing in the 2024 Championship of the Americas Games this spring in the hopes of earning the remaining quotas needed for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. USA Shooting athletes currently have a total of 18 Olympic quotas slots for Pairs and four Paralympic quotas. The remaining Olympic quotas include Men’s Air Pistol (two), Men’s Air Rifle (one), Men’s 50m Rifle 3-Position (one), Men’s Rapid Fire (one) and Women’s 25m Pistol (one). See the complete list of quotas earned here.
