Magpul recently announced its newest hard case, the LR53, which with 57.3 x 19.7 x 6.5-inch external dimensions is the largest in the company’s DAKA case lineup.

The LR53 hard case is designed to transport your largest firearms, up to and including firearms with extremely long barrels, such as waterfowl shotguns. In addition, it includes the DAKA Grid Organizer system, with 10 triple blocks and 10 double blocks.

The Magpul LR53 DAKA hard case includes 10 triple DAKA Blocks and 10 double DAKA Blocks.

The DAKA GRID is made of individual expanded polypropylene end panels, center panels and the aforementioned DAKA blocks. These components nest securely together, creating a drop-in system that simplifies the process of organizing your gear.

The LR53 hard case also sports recessed camming latches to make opening and closing the case easy, plus lock housing and zip tie pass-throughs to secure contents and minimize snagging. Additionally, internal corner pockets create an impact-resistant bumper zone that also provide extra storage space.

The injection-molded Magpul DAKA LR53 hard case has double-walled corners that double as storage pockets for other necessary equipment. A water- and weather-resistant gasket will keep dust and moisture out, along with self-equalizing pressure control. In addition, each latch can be activated with one hand.

Wheels are equipped with 608RS deep groove ball bearings for smooth rolling and longevity, with a rubber-overmolded design to reduce noise and mitigate debris incursion. The LR53 case’s frame also includes lugs at the base that interface with the lid, allowing cases to nest together.

As for the latch design, here Magpul employed a reimagined latch lockout system, with each latch containing one lock pass-through. Once a lock is installed, it can’t be opened until the lock is removed. Additionally, each latch sports a lock housing and a zip tie pass-through, allowing you to secure the lock to the case, therefore protecting the lock and the case from damage due to impacts. Four hook-and-loop straps are included with the Magpul DAKA LR53 hard case for this purpose.

Interior measurements of the Magpul DAKA LR53 hard case are of 53.8 x 16.6 x 5.5 inches.

Weight when empty is 25 pounds, and with the DAKA organizer the weight is 28 pounds.

MSRP is $369. The Magpul DAKA LR53 hard case is only available in black. Go to magpul.com to learn more.
