Eley is relaunching its Lot Analyzer for those who shoot .22 Long Rifle precision competitions. This online tool details the performance of specific lots of Eley premium ammunition, providing data for individual shooters’ ballistic apps and aiding in finding the next lot of ammunition closest in performance to a shooter’s last lot.
Eley previously offered its Lot Analyzer data to users of Eley premium .22 Long Rifle ammunition, but found simply tabulating the sheer quantity of data to be overwhelming and so discontinued the service. Now the Lot Analyzer is poised to return in early November, perhaps by the time you read this, and Eley remains the only ammunition manufacturer offering this service.

Accessing the Lot Analyzer is easy. Go to Eley’s website and click on the Lot Analyzer (Lot “Analyser” in the King’s English) tab, enter the lot number from your box of ammo, and you’ll find tabulated there the data derived from Eley testing of that lot, including:
- Trajectory
 - Ballistic coefficient
 - Date loaded
 - Quantity loaded
 - Velocity
 - Group size
 - Score
 - Shot distribution

For competition shooters utilizing ballistic apps, ballistic coefficient and average velocity spread are the most useful among the Lot Analyzer’s data; inputting this along with bullet weight and local environmental conditions will allow your app to finalize sight dope.
In addition, the bullet trajectory data allows a comparison between Eley and ballistic app data for a confidence check. Group size/shot distribution data, as well as scores actually fired by Eley with the ammunition lot are useful for evaluating a firearm’s expected performance. All these data, of course, are especially useful to the shooter who does not use a ballistic app. Finally, the Lot Analyzer also shows the date Eley loaded the ammunition, and the quantity loaded in that lot. Eley does not charge to utilize the Lot Analyzer, but shooters must register at eleyxshot.com to access it.
Eley produces its competition ammunition in comparatively small batches, which is one of the reasons behind its precision performance, and the most demanding Smallbore and other .22 Long Rifle precision shooters routinely buy a case or more of a single lot at a time. Knowing how much ammo is available is a specific lot number is useful information before committing to such a large purchase.
“If a desired lot is no longer available, shooters can explore additional opportunities through the ELEY Test Range, educational content on the ELEY VIP App, or by connecting with their local retailer through the ELEY Store Finder,” Eley advises in a press release. A careful perusal of Lot Analyzer data may find yourself a lot that performs as close as possible to your last lot of ammunition.
“Shooters are always looking for that competitive edge,” ELEY Sales and Marketing Director Michael Atkinson said. “With the Lot Analyser, we are giving them access to factory data that was previously unavailable outside of our test facilities. It’s about transparency, confidence and education.”
