British ammunition specialist Eley has launched a new line of Trial Packs designed to help .22 Long Rifle shooters dial in the ideal round for their specific firearm and discipline—without the cost or commitment of full-case purchases.

The new packs bring together curated selections of Eley’s most popular .22 LR cartridges, aimed at everyone from elite competitors to club-level shooters and hunters. Each pack groups five types of ammunition with distinct velocity profiles, recoil behavior and use-case optimization.

At the high end is the Tenex Signature Pack, built for athletes chasing peak precision. It includes velocity variants of Eley’s flagship Tenex .22 LR round—widely used in Olympic and world-level competition.

For those seeking to compare across Eley’s premium offerings, the Elite Pack samples Tenex, Match, Team, Tenex Pistol and Semi-Auto Precision, helping competitors tailor their setup to specific events or conditions.

The Target & Club Pack caters to entry-level shooters and organizations, with approachable rounds like Club, Bullseye Pistol X and Ultra offering performance at a lower cost.

For semi-automatic firearms, the Semi-Auto Precision Pack combines high-functioning rounds like Force, Contact and Outlaw, each engineered to cycle reliably while maintaining tight groupings.

Finally, the Hunting & High Energy Pack focuses on field-ready power, with hollow-point and high-velocity loads ideal for pest control, steel shooting and varmint applications.

Eley says the goal is simple: to make its extensive range of rimfire ammunition more accessible for discovery and comparison without the commitment of bulk buying.

“These packs were designed to give consumers an accessible way to explore all levels of the Eley range, without committing to large case quantities,” Michael Atkinson, director at Eley said. “We’re confident that once a shooter finds the round that matches their firearm, they'll experience the Eley difference firsthand.”

Pricing for Eley’s new Trial Packs starts at $42 with the Precision Semi-Auto Pack and tops out at $80 for the Elite Competition Pack.

The new Trial Pack series from Eley is now available through Killough Shooting Sports.
