Springfield Armory has introduced an upgraded version of its single-stack 1911 Operator chambered in .45 ACP, adding modern tactical features while maintaining the platform’s traditional design. The new 1911 Operator AOS Threaded models feature suppressor-ready threaded barrels, the AOS optics-mounting system and corrosion-resistant Cerakote finishes.

At the core is a forged carbon steel frame and slide, paired with a 5¾-inch stainless steel barrel featuring .578x28 threading for attaching muzzle devices. Plus, a knurled thread protector comes standard.
These new pistols also feature the AOS (Agency Optic System) developed in collaboration with Agency Arms, which supports multiple red-dot sight footprints via modular steel plates—including Trijicon RMR, Leupold DPP, Shield and Docter-style optics. Buyers get a cover plate, which includes a rear sight, and can order one optic plate at a discounted rate of $49.
Additionally, each 1911 Operator AOS Threaded .45 pistol includes G10 grips, an accessory rail, tritium front sight, ambidextrous safety and two eight-round extended base pad magazines.

Available finishes include Coyote Brown, OD Green, Tungsten Gray and Black. Finishes are applied via Cerakote for added resistance to wear and corrosion. MSRP for each variant is $1,289.
This update positions Springfield Armory’s 1911 Operator AOS Threaded pistols as a bridge between classic designs and modern handgun expectations.
