The Walther PDP Steel Frame has made quite an impression—sleek and flat-shooting, with a balance and recoil control that’s hard to beat right out of the box. But if you’ve been around this game long enough, you know that no matter how good the factory setup is, there’s always room to fine-tune a gun to your exact preferences. That’s where LOK Grips steps in, offering not just an upgrade but a transformation in both form and function.

THINNER, TIGHTER, MORE CONTROL

LOK’s new Thin Bogies Grips for the Walther PDP Full-Size Steel Frame are exactly the kind of aftermarket option I like to see—purpose-driven, rugged and designed for real-world performance. These aren’t just cosmetic panels; they change how the gun fits in your hand and how it runs under pressure.

Compared to the stock grips, LOK’s Thin version is noticeably slimmer across the board. They’ve reduced the back strap and added a subtle yet functional relief cut around the magazine release. This isn’t just about aesthetics, it’s about grip geometry and control. The thinner profile allows for a significantly higher grip on the frame, letting you really lock in under the beavertail. The end result? Better recoil control, a more natural point of aim, and an overall improved feel when running stages.

AGGRESSION WHERE IT COUNTS

These grips feature LOK’s Bogies Texture, an aggressive, almost skate tape-like surface that wraps around the backstrap. It’s no-nonsense and no-slip, even with sweaty hands or in wet conditions. For competition use, it’s hard to beat. I found the texture to be aggressive but not punishing—just enough to bite in and hold without tearing your hands apart during a long day of practice or a major match.

It’s worth noting that this is a two-piece grip system that fits perfectly using your stock hardware. LOK even includes two dowels (1/8" x 3/8") to assist with installation—smart, simple and thoughtful. The machining is precise, the finish is clean and the quality is what we’ve come to expect from LOK Grips.

HAVOC MEETS HERITAGE: 1911 UPGRADES DONE RIGHT

While I was digging into the Walther Arms PDP upgrades, I also got a chance to check out the LOK Grips Havoc Series for the 1911 platform, specifically the standard thickness Grey/Black and the new Flat Dark Earth (FDE) variant. If you're still running a 1911 in Single Stack division setup, don’t sleep on these. The Havoc line delivers a killer balance between texture and ergonomics.

What I liked most about the Havoc grips was the flexibility. You can tailor the level of aggression in the texture, choose your preferred thickness and even pick a color that complements your pistol’s look. Want something that locks in hard for Major loads? Go aggressive. Prefer a little smoother feel for fast transitions? They’ve got that too. It’s about personalization—something USPSA shooters understand better than anyone.

PERSONALIZE YOUR SETUP

Changing your grips is one of the easiest and most effective ways to dial in the performance of your handgun. LOK Grips makes this process seamless with a huge catalog of options—not just for the Walther PDP or 1911, but for CZs, SIG Sauers, Berettas and more. Whether you shoot USPSA Carry Optics, Limited or Steel Challenge, there’s a LOK Grips option that can help you build a setup that’s uniquely yours.

All LOK grips are made from high-quality G10 material—a fiberglass-based laminate known for its strength, rigidity and weather resistance. G10 won’t warp, crack or wear out under heat or stress. Whether you’re shooting in Florida humidity or an Arizona dry heat, these grips won’t let you down.
