National Open Rifle Indoor Sectional Tournaments are one of many types that are sanctioned by NRA. Besides the National Open Rifle Indoor Sectionals, there are also Air Pistol, Precision Pistol, International Free/Standard Pistol and Junior Rifle Indoor Sectional Championships.

NRA will commence tournament sanctioning for the 2025 National Indoor Sectional Championships on Sunday, December 1, 2024.

Sectional dates for the Open Rifle, Air Pistol, Precision Pistol, International Free/Standard Pistol and Junior Rifle Indoor Sectional Championships are January 1, 2025, to April 15, 2025.

Additionally, the 2025 Indoor Sectional programs have been published to the NRA Competitive Shooting Division website.

To avoid any confusion, the official challenge period will be May 1, 2025, to June 2, 2025.

Something else to note: under the Open Rifle banner, there are five NRA National Open Rifle Indoor Sectional Tournaments conducted annually, including Conventional Smallbore Rifle Four-Position, Metric Smallbore Rifle Three-Position, Precision Air Rifle Standing, Precision Air Rifle Three-Position and Smallbore Light Rifle Standing.

More about NRA National Indoor Sectional Championships: “The NRA Competitive Shooting Division sanctions locally sponsored Indoor Sectional Tournaments around the country each year. Local Sponsors conduct their Tournament during the assigned time frame established by the NRA and follow the applicable NRA Rules and conditions within this Tournament Program. Sectional Tournaments are conducted under the same requirements as Registered Tournaments. Once fired, scores are compiled by the Tournament Statistical Officer and a local Sponsor’s Official Results Bulletin produced. Scores are then sent to the NRA Competitive Shooting Division where all scores from across the country are combined for the NRA National Indoor Sectional Championship. Awards are then issued as outlined in the Awards Schedule.”

Since NRA Indoor Sectional scores are used to determine the Indoor National Champions, all Sectionals must be conducted in the manner described in the match programs and within current NRA rules.

Sectionals are operated by Tournament Officials at each local Tournament as announced in their respective Tournament match programs.
