Leupold's Mark 5HD riflescopes have proven popular with shooters, even winning a coveted Golden Bullseye award from Shooting Illustrated as 2019 Optic of the Year. Now, the company has announced they have expanded the Mark 5HD family with new MOA models.

Leupold Mark 5HD MOA models
Leupold Mark 5HD optics were designed to bring out the best performance from modern long-range rifles and ammunition.

The new MOA-based models come in 5-25x56 mm and 3.6-18x44 mm versions. A user-friendly long-range optic like the Mark 5HD is an excellent choice for minute of angle shooters. There are three reticle options available: Impact 60, PR1-MOA and Illuminated PR1-MOA. ("PR" stands for precision rifle.)

MSRP for the 56 mm version starts at $2,599.99, and the 44 mm model at $2,339.99.

Leupold says the Mark 5HD "is up to 20 ounces lighter than other scopes in its class." (The 5-25x56 mm model weight is 30 ounces, 3.6-18x44 mm is 26 ounces.) However, the lighter weight does not degrade from the optical clarity that consumers have come to expect from Leupold. Additionally, the Mark 5HD is designed with a 35 mm maintube for increased adjustment travel, and included in the box is a high-speed power selector ring featuring an optional low-profile throw lever for additional leverage.

Precise and repeatable tracking is provided by the M1C3 ZeroLock adjustments. The M1C3 elevation dials provide 100 MOA adjustment in three turns on the 3.6-18x44 mm, and 120 MOA adjustment (same amount of turns) on the 5-25x56 mm model. Windage adjustment is capped, with the zero indicator mark relocated to the maintube of the scope. This means you can see it without having to move your head off the rifle stock.
