The original Trijicon RMR (Ruggedized Miniature Reflex) is highly regarded for providing fast, accurate aiming, along with reliability on numerous platforms―including slide mounted pistol applications. Pro shooter Julie Golob used one to win the 2016 USPSA Carry Optics Championship. For 2017, Trijicon has introduced the RMR Type 2.

The RMR Type 2 features new electronics that increase reliability under harsh use and stiff recoil. A Button Lock Out Mode prevents accidental adjustments to your preferred brightness. Battery Conservation Mode adjusts the aiming dot to ambient lighting conditions after 16.5 hours without a button push to further extend battery life. The bright, illuminated aiming point allows for instant target acquisition under any condition. Additionally, the RMR Type 2 is parallax-free.

Constructed from 7075-T6 aluminum to mil-spec standards, Trijicon's RMR Type 2 is one of the most the most rugged reflex sights on the market today. Its patented shape absorbs impacts and diverts stresses away from the lens. In addition, the new RMR weighs only 1.2 ounces, but will still handle the rigors of the most severe environmental conditions.

The CR2032 lithium battery lasts up to two years in the LED version, and up to four years in the Adjustable LED model at mid-setting. Audible windage and elevation adjustments allow for quick and easy zeroing without the need for any special tools. The New RMR Type 2 is compatible with all existing RMR mounts and optics-ready pistols.

The RMR is available in three models―the Adjustable LED ($699), the battery-free Dual-Illuminated ($577), and LED ($649) with aiming dot sizes ranging from 1.0 MOA to 13 MOA. The Dual-Illuminated (battery-free) RMR model is unchanged by this product update.

SSUSA will review the new RMR Type 2 in a future issue of the digital magazine.
