Metal Madness, the fast-paced, family-friendly shooting sport, recently introduced a series of major updates that make getting involved easier than ever.

At the center is the new Easy Up target frame system—now fully tested and live. It’s quick to assemble and will work with nearly any shooting range that has at least a 40x90-foot bay. No elevation or shoot house is needed, and the system stores compactly: frames fit in a 48x82-inch footprint, and all targets and hangers tuck into a 12x12x14-inch space. The hangers even store neatly on a five-gallon bucket rim.

This streamlined setup is part of Metal Madness’s push to make MMSSA (Metal Madness Shooting Sports Association) events more accessible to ranges of all sizes—without needing a dedicated bay or permanent structure.

A full set of 50 targets and hangers comes in at less than $2,400—and they're backed by a lifetime guarantee for use with .45 ACP or smaller calibers.

But gear isn’t the only focus. Metal Madness is preparing to roll out its Youth Shooting Development Program in partnership with the Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP). With SASP’s online coaching tools, a single certification will let coaches lead both MMSSA and SASP teams—streamlining training and competition for young shooters.

Backed by the MidwayUSA Foundation, the program will also allow MMSSA youth teams to create endowments and access gear for fundraising.

Meanwhile, the revamped Metal Madness website and scoring app are fully operational. Each affiliate range now has its own event calendar and results portal—tightening the digital infrastructure for competitors and organizers alike.

With memberships at just $25/year, Metal Madness remains one of the most affordable ways to get involved in the shooting sports.

“We’ve made it easy and affordable to set up an MMSSA shooting range, making shooting a fun and accessible activity for everyone,” said founder Ed White. “My goal is to educate people about shooting and make it a ‘kitchen table discussion’ that involves the entire family.”

Anyone interested in becoming an affiliate or learning more can reach out to Ed White through the Metal Madness website at mmssa.net.
