The NRA World Shooting Championship is the ultimate challenge for competitors in any shooting discipline. All firearms, optics and ammunition are provided to competitors at the NRA World Shooting Championship to provide a level playing field. As in previous editions of the tournament, there will be 12 stages of fire spanning several shooting sport disciplines at this year’s NRA World Shooting Championship.

Registration is open now for the 2025 NRA World Shooting Championship, presented by Walther Arms. The tournament will take place at Camp Atterbury near Edinburgh, Ind., from Sept. 30 to Oct. 4, 2025.

Being held for the eight time, the NRA World Shooting Championship is the ultimate all-encompassing tournament which crowns the undisputed “World Shooting Champion” from professional and amateur competitive shooters. More than $250,000 in cash and prizes are available to the field of competitors, with $25,000 awarded to the World Shooting Champion and $1,000 for the winner of each stage of competition.

Last year, Brian Shanholtz topped the NRA World Shooting Championship leaderboard, triumphing over a talented field of 213 shooters.

The NRA, match sponsors and the state of Indiana are again showing their continued commitment to supporting competitive shooting and the Second Amendment.

“The NRA World Shooting Championship is the ultimate test of skill, bringing together the top shooters to compete across multiple disciplines,” said Josh Savani, Executive Director of NRA General Operations. “This annual event showcases the diversity and excitement of the shooting sports and welcomes amateur and professional shooters who aim to be crowned the ‘World’s Greatest Shooter.’ NRA is proud to host this world-class competition, and we are grateful for the continued support from Walther Arms and our industry partners who help make this match a resounding success.”
