Sierra Bullets Expands MatchKing-X Lineup With New 6 mm 107-Grain HPBT

Sierra Bullets has added a new 6 mm 107-grain hollow point boat tail (HPBT) projectile to its MatchKing-X (MKX) series, bringing the line’s long-range precision into a format designed to perform in both competition and hunting conditions.

The MKX series, introduced earlier this year, is a spinoff of Sierra’s well-known MatchKing bullets—this time reworked to deliver consistent terminal performance alongside the precision for which the original line is known. The newest addition keeps the external shape and ogive of Sierra’s established 107-grain MatchKing bullet, meaning handloaders won’t need to change die settings to switch between the two.

Its MatchKing counterpart has been a top performer in our line since the rise in popularity of 6 mm cartridges. Naturally, the inclusion of this 6mm offering into our MKX lineup has been highly anticipated,” Sierra Bullets Marketing Manager Colby Adamek said. “This new offering gives competitive 6 mm shooters a precision-engineered bullet they can confidently take from the range to the field, delivering the performance needed for both competition and hunting applications.”

While visually similar to its match-focused sibling, the new MKX version is built to expand on impact, a key change aimed at hunters using 6 mm platforms for medium game. The bullet is designed to retain its accuracy while adding the kind of terminal performance needed for ethical takedowns in the field.

The 6 mm 107-grain MKX is now available in 100-count boxes for $50.99 and in bulk 500-count boxes for $244.99. It’s available through Sierra’s website and dealers nationwide. A 7 mm MKX variant is expected later in the summer.
