Ruger introduced a commemorative firearms line for the nation’s Bicentennial in 1976. Those guns are now collector’s items. Fifty years later, the company is repeating the formula for the semiquincentennial with the 250th Anniversary Series, a limited-production run of eight products spanning rifles, pistols, a revolver and a stripped AR lower. Each carries the engraving “Made in the 250th Year of American Liberty,” and several feature a distinctive Liberty Blue finish that ties the series together visually.

The 10/22 gets the deepest treatment with three models. The first is a classic hardwood stock version with an 18½-inch satin black cold-hammer-forged barrel at $359. The second pairs an engraved Altamont walnut stock with a stainless steel barrel and BX-22 trigger at $679—the engraving carries a freedom-inspired motif that makes this the most overtly commemorative piece in the lineup. A third variant swaps to a Liberty Blue synthetic Ruger Modular Stock with a red and white splatter pattern, adds a ghost ring adjustable rear sight on a Picatinny top rail, a flash suppressor on a 1/2x28 thread and a BX-22 trigger at $589.

The handgun side of the series covers three platforms. The Mark IV 22/45 ($475) features checkered 1911-style grip panels, a 4.4-inch threaded bull barrel and a factory-installed scope mount that accepts RMR, DPP and RMSc pattern optics directly. The Super Wrangler revolver ($339) ships with two cylinders—one in .22 LR, one in .22 WMR—on a 4.62-inch barrel, giving owners a convertible rimfire that handles both cartridges with a cylinder swap. Finally, the LCP MAX chambered in .380 ACP ($399) is a 10+1 micro-compact with a Liberty Blue polymer grip frame, red and white splatter pattern and a tritium front sight.

The pistol ships with a soft pocket holster, magazine loader and 250th commemorative sticker. MSRP is $399. (Photo courtesy Ruger)

A Ruger American Rifle Gen II chambered in .308 Win. ($769) sports a Liberty Blue synthetic stock and a spiral-fluted Gun Metal Gray Cerakote barrel with a muzzle brake on a 5/16x24 thread pattern. It ships with a Ruger Marksman Adjustable trigger and a one-piece Picatinny scope base.

The final piece in the series is a stripped AR-15 lower receiver ($129) machined from 7075-T6 forged aluminum to mil-spec dimensions with a hardcoat anodized finish. The lower carries the “Made in the 250th Year of American Liberty” engraving on the left side and Hebron, Kentucky, rollmarks. An adjustable tension screw minimizes play between upper and lower receivers. Ruger notes that the AR lower is also available as a standard non-commemorative version for builders who want the receiver without the anniversary markings.

Ruger’s 250th Anniversary Series prices range from $129 to $769. For more information, visit ruger.com.
