Every March, the palmetto-lined fields of Silver Dollar Shooters Club in Odessa, Florida, play host to one of the ATA’s flagship circuit stops—a weeklong affair where 507 of the country’s finest trapshooters converge to test their nerve across 15 events. The 46th Annual Amateur Trapshooting Association Southern Satellite Grand American, held March 8-15, 2026, did not disappoint.
Team Remington was at the center of the action, capturing two of the five championship event titles and stacking up wins across the Junior, Sub-Junior and Veteran divisions in a week that showcased the program’s depth from its youngest competitors to its most experienced.
Ian Lawrence, a 24-year-old from Herrin, Illinois, led the way by winning the High All Around Championship. He also finished as the Singles runner-up and claimed third place in the High Over All Open division—a three-pronged performance that announced his presence at the top of a deep field.
“I relied on Remington STS light 8s for Singles and Doubles, along with Nitro 27s for handicap—highlighting a balanced combination of recoil management and performance,” Lawrence said of his podium finishes.
Zach Nannini, whose stature within the Southern Grand is such that Event No. 6 on the program bears his name, won the Handicap Championship from the 27-yard line following a 50-target shoot-off. In the Doubles event, Nannini posted the third-highest score in the field before falling back to earn the AAA Champion title.
“They deliver consistency and tight patterns for excellent breaks when you need them the most,” Nannini said of the Remington Nitro 27 loads he used to win the Handicap Championship.
The Debrie brothers turned in a family performance worth remembering. Wyatt Debrie was the Junior Champion in the High Over All competition and the Handicap Championship Junior runner-up. He also won the Wednesday Handicap, the Singles Class Junior Championship and the Doubles Junior Class title on Friday, the kind of week where it’s easier to list what he didn’t win. His younger brother Barrett claimed the Singles and Doubles Class Championship in the Sub-Junior division and finished as the Sub-Junior runner-up in Thursday’s Doubles event.
In the Veteran division, Mike Blaisdell won the Doubles Championship. Additionally, Sandra Jo Jack earned runner-up finishes in both the Singles and Doubles Championships in the Lady II category.
The Southern Grand has been a fixture of the ATA calendar since its debut in 1981, and Silver Dollar Shooters Club—located just eight miles from Tarpon Springs and the Gulf Coast—remains one of the most popular venues in registered trapshooting. The 46th edition featured 15 events across eight days, with the championship events (Singles, Doubles and Handicap Championships, along with the High All Around and High Over All) contested during the final five days.
