Sightmark recently announced the Core Shot A-Spec reflex sight, which will be available fourth quarter 2018. The reticle is a 5 MOA red dot, and there's going to be two models priced under $200; the FMS ($156), which includes an AR-riser and a low-profile mount, and the quick-detach LQD ($180).
The company bills this new red dot as “[bridging] the gap between a full-sized and mini red dot sight, making them a mid-compact sized red dot perfect for AR pistols and SBRs.” The lens is scratch-resistant, with 28 mm x 18 mm dimensions. Although we haven’t gotten our hands on one yet, we’ve learned the new sight will have eight reticle brightness levels controlled by two buttons located on the side of the unit, also boasting two settings compatible with night vision gear. The usual shockproof and moisture resistance features are also present.
The Core Shot A-Spec is made from 6061-T6 aluminum. Windage and elevation are adjustable via slotted screws. The adjustment range for both is 100 MOA. Parallax is set at 10 yards. The unit is powered by a single CR2032 battery mounted externally for easy changing, including a low-battery indicator and auto shut-off.
The FMS model’s dimensions are 59 mm long, 30 mm wide and 56 mm tall, weighing in at 4.4 ounces. The LQD is 10 mm wider, but heavier at 4.9 ounces.
