On Sept. 12-13, Federal Ammunition and Team Federal hosted the second annual Federal Gold Medal Match, a Precision Rifle Series Pro Series qualifier held at Alabama Precision in Carbon Hill, Ala.

Match Director Jim Saunders and his team presented a challenging course-of-fire for the nearly 150 competitors battling heat, humidity and difficult winds over the two-day match. Greg Holloway (169), Ryan Hansen (161), Spence Pepper (160), Robert Brantley (158) and Justin Pender (157) all earned custom trophies as the top five shooters in the Open division. In addition to bringing home the coolest trophy on the entire PRS Pro Series circuit, Holloway also won a custom rifle built and presented by Team Federal’s own Brian Allen in conjunction with A-Team Precision.

In addition, Allen and fellow Team Federal shooter Shannon Kay both turned in strong performances, with Kay finishing sixth overall (156) and Allen finishing 12th (149), also earning the Top Senior trophy.

“This was a fantastic match. From the challenging course-of-fire to the support Federal showed the competitors, everything was top notch,” said Allen. “I’m proud to represent Team Federal and appreciate all their support for the precision rifle community.”

As for the other divisions, Ben Gossett (150) earned the Top Military/Law Enforcement trophy for the second consecutive year. Phil Cashin (154) of Masterpiece Arms took top honors in the Production division. A strong performance from Melissa Gilliland (133) earned her the Top Lady trophy, while the Top Junior trophy went to Luke Holbrook (137). Finally, Mark Cooper (148) used a .308 Win. rifle to claim the Top Tactical trophy.

Federal Ammunition is the Official Ammunition of PRS. And next May, the company will lend its name to a PRS Pro Series and Armageddon Gear Cup qualifier match in New Mexico. Additionally, Federal will repeat as title sponsor of the 2021 Federal Gold Medal PRS Match at Alabama Precision for the third year in a row.
