Team Hornady shooters Sean Murphy and Greg Hamilton were victorious at the 2021 Vortex Optics Team Sniper Challenge, held Feb. 26-28 at the Coleman’s Creek Training Center in Ellerbe, N.C.

At the match, Murphy and Hamilton were using Hornady’s 6 mm 110-grain A-Tip bullets, and .22-cal. 90-grain A-Tips at the two-day precision rifle competition.

A-Tip Match bullets feature an aluminum tip that’s precision machined and longer than polymer tips. This moves the center of gravity and enhances in-flight stability. In addition, A-Tip bullets are sequentially packaged for consistent performance.

Murphy gave high praise to the performance of Hornady’s A-Tip bullets at the match, especially in the face of difficult conditions.

“This match had a lot of shooting and decision making in relatively short windows of time,” said Murphy. “Running high-BC, accurate A-Tip bullets helped us stay on target fighting through unpredictable winds.”

In addition, on Mar. 5 at the Clay’s Cartridge Classic PRS match in Leedey, Okla., Hornady shooters Jeff Badley, Dave Preston, and George Gardner performed admirably. Badley took first place in Production division shooting Hornady 6 mm 110-grain A-Tip bullets. Not to be outdone, Preston took first place in Open and Gardner won the Gas Gun division. Both were using the same bullets.

“I can’t imagine shooting this match without my incredibly accurate A-Tip bullets,” said Badley.
