42nd Annual Bianchi Cup Coming In May

The 42nd edition of the Bianchi Cup National Action Pistol Championship will be held May 24-28 at the Green Valley Rifle and Pistol Club in Hallsville, Mo. The iconic pistol match has competitors shooting from both the standing and prone positions and with both strong and weak hands across the four championship stages.

Below is the schedule of events. Note: All times and locations are subject to change.

Monday, May 24 
  • 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Competitor registration, packet pickup and equipment inspection (Range)
Tuesday, May 25 
  • 1:00 p.m. Multi-Gun aggregate (range)
  • 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Competitor registration, packet pickup (Range)
Wednesday, May 26 
  • 8:00 a.m. Championship, Day 1 (Range)
  • 6:00 p.m. Competitor social (tentative, subject to Covid restrictions)
Thursday, May 27
  • 8:00 a.m. Championship, Day 2 (Range)
Friday, May 28
  • Shoot-offs for ties (Time TBA)
  • 1:00 p.m. Awards barbeque (Range)


For Open, Metallic, Production and Production Optics shooters, the entry fee is $250, while junior entry is set at $150. Four-person teams require an additional $100 fee, with 2-person teams at $50. If you are interested in attending, be sure to act fast—registration will close on Friday, May 14.

Event I: Practical
  • Rounds: 48
  • Target: NRA AP-1
  • Distances: 10, 15, 25 and 50 yards
  • Procedure: See Rules 7.6, 10.22
Event II: Clive Whelan Barricade
  • Rounds: 48
  • Target: NRA AP-1
  • Distances: 10, 15, 25 and 35 yards
  • Procedure: See Rules 7.7, 10.23
Event III: Moving Target (Modified)
  • Rounds: 48
  • Target: NRA AP-1
  • Distances: 10, 15, 20 and 25 yards
  • Procedure: See Rules 7.8, 10.24
Event IV: Olin “Oli” C. Barjenbruch Falling Plates
  • Rounds: 48
  • Target: 8-inch round plate
  • Distances: 10, 15, 20 and 25 yards
  • Procedure: See Rules 7.9, 10.25


In 2019, Bruce Piatt won the Bianchi Cup for the sixth time with a score of 1920-179X. Last year, the match was canceled due to Covid-19.
