Austen Smith Qualifies For USA Shooting Women’s Skeet Team

Federal Ammunition’s Austen Smith earned a spot on the U.S. Women’s Skeet team roster, will head to Paris 2024 Olympic Games this summer.

Federal Ammunition sponsored shooter Austen Smith secured her spot on the USA Shooting Women’s Skeet team headed to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games this summer after competing at the 2024 USA Shooting Shotgun Selection Match, held at the Tucson Trap and Skeet Club in Tucson, Arizona, March 11-17.

Smith had a phenomenal performance the U.S. Olympic Trials-Shotgun Part 2, earning 487 U.S. Olympic Shotgun team selection points after the conclusion of the trials.

Including Smith, eight shotgun athletes qualified to represent the United States after completing the U.S. Olympic Trials-Shotgun Part 2. The other shotgun athletes that made the team are Rachel Tozier, Ryann Phillips, Derrick Mein, Will Hinton, Vincent Hancock, Conner Prince and Dania Vizzi.

This will be Smith’s second appearance at the Summer Olympic Games. She was the youngest member of the 2021 USA Shooting team that competed in Tokyo that year, where she finished in 10th place. Smith had only been shooting for seven years prior to making it to the Tokyo Games.

She is coached by three-time Olympic gold medalist and Paris 2024 Games U.S. teammate Vincent Hancock.

Smith’s most recent competition achievements include a gold medal and a new world record in the Mixed Skeet Team event at the 2023 ISSF World Championship, gold in Women's Skeet Team at the 2022 ISSF World Championship, gold in Three-Woman Skeet Team and silver in Mixed Skeet Team at the 2022 ISSF World Cup Lima, gold in Women’s Skeet at the 2021 ISSF World Cup Lonato and many more.
