Berger Bullets recently announced they have joined forces with the Nammo Group. This Norwegian/Finnish corporation is the home of SK Rimfire Ammunition, Vihtavuori Powder, and Lapua Bullets and Cases. Many top shooters, such as 2016 NRA High Power Rifle Long-Range Champion John Whidden, are already shooting Berger bullets in Lapua brass. This merger will make it easier for the two companies (Berger and Lapua) to optimize the performance of factory ammo, as well as to optimize brass for use with Berger match projectiles.

Morten Brandtzæg, president and CEO of the Nammo Group said, “Having Berger Bullets on board is the perfect match for Nammo. Their products, which are complementary to our other premium brands, will strengthen our group’s strategic position in the U.S. commercial ammunition market.”

Some history: Berger was founded in 1955 and owned by Walt Berger for 45 years (Walt continues to work at Berger). In 2000, Spiveco Inc., maker of the J4 bullet jackets, purchased Berger from Walt. In 2002, Spiveco Inc. sold Berger to the Sheeks family who are the present owners. Today, under Nammo Group ownership, Berger joins three other brands that share a strong passion and commitment to precision shooting performance.

Vihtavuori joined the Nammo Group in 2014. Under Nammo Group support, Vihtavuori has improved in availability. SK Ammunition is also a brand within the Nammo Group that is well-known for producing quality rimfire ammunition.

Eric Stecker, president of Berger said, “Supported by Nammo, Berger will continue to produce the highest quality rifle bullets in the world. Written words fail to describe how excited we are about the future of Berger Bullets and the growth of the other premium Nammo brands within the U.S. market.”

The website will remain at www.bergerbullets.com.
