New from Berger Bullets is the Extreme Long-Range (ELR) Match Solid Projectile line. We were able to check out the much-anticipated new precision shooting products in person at SHOT Show 2019.

Uniquely, these are large diameter projectiles manufactured from solid copper alloy. The initial ELR Match lineup includes two .375 caliber versions: 379-grain and 407-grain.

Extreme Long-Range shooting at distances up to two miles (and beyond) has rocked the firearms community, mostly thanks to new technology that pushes the envelope. With roots in military sniper and Special Forces rifle training, ELR enthusiasts are utilizing the same innovative rifle and ammunition technology to engage targets at distances previously unheard of.

Berger, an early pioneer in ELR shooting, is posturing themselves as go-to specialists for long-range rifle ammo and components. Solid projectiles, which is a term that means they are made of solid metals such as  bronze and copper-nickel alloys, allow for the highest possible Ballistic Coefficient (BC). Perfect uniformity for these bullets is achieved by specialized lathe-turning.

Berger Chief Ballistician Bryan Litz says, “Our new ELR Solid Match Bullets provide both competition shooters and Mil/LE forces a long-range solid projectile like no other. Its highly optimized VLD ogive design and lathe-turned solid copper construction provide a ballistic advantage that is unmatched by any conventional style bullet.”
