CMP hosted its first-ever in-person M1911 pistol sales event on Friday, June 6, 2025, offering collectors a rare chance to view and select from hundreds of vintage pistols on site.

Held at CMP’s M1911 armory in Anniston, Alabama, the event featured more than 400 pistols, including Service and Rack Grades, along with specialty categories such as matching serial number sets, consecutive serial number pairs and early production models.

M1911 sales event schedule
Two in-person M1911 sales events remain this summer, to be held at Camp Perry in Port Clinton, Ohio. Tickets are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis through the CMP Competition Tracker system.

“The first in-person sales event at our M1911 armory in Anniston was very successful, based on the overall organization of the event, the curated experience and, of course, feedback from many satisfied customers,” Civilian Marksmanship Program CEO and Board Chair Jerry O’Keefe said.

Attendees responded enthusiastically on CMP’s online forum, praising the smooth check-in process, professional staff and opportunity to engage directly with CMP armorers.

Collectors who missed the Anniston event can still attend one of two remaining sales scheduled for this summer at Camp Perry in Port Clinton, Ohio. While the venue will be different, you can expect CMP to deliver the same high level of customer service and offer the same quantity, quality and variety of M1911s—including all special categories. Registration is available now through CMP’s Competition Tracker (free account required). Act fast, because spots are limited.

In response to continued demand, CMP has also increased the lifetime M1911 purchase limit from two pistols to four, allowing returning customers to expand their collections.
