Hillsdale College Shotgun Team Shines At 2025 ACUI/SCTP Collegiate Clay Target Championship

Hillsdale College Shotgun Team shooters post top scores in multiple clay target disciplines, plus five student-athletes were named All-Americans.

The Hillsdale College Shotgun Team secured third place on the Division II Team High Over All leaderboard at the 2025 ACUI/SCTP Collegiate Clay Target Championship, held at the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio, Texas, from March 16-22.

Conducted by the Association of College Unions International and Scholastic Clay Target Program, the match “brings together athletes from around the country to compete for top honors in American, Sporting and Doubles events.”

The Hillsdale College Shotgun Team finished in third place for Division II after breaking 2822/3000 targets at the match. Hillsdale was 14 points behind the runner-up school, Fort Hays State University, and 18 points behind the Division II champion, William Penn University.

In American Skeet, Hillsdale College shooters broke 497/500 targets, good for first place in Division II and the highest score of any team in attendance in any division.

As for Skeet Doubles, Hillsdale shattered 485/500 targets, once again earning the highest score in any division and first place in Division II. Additionally, the team finished eighth in American Trap, plus fifth place in the following events: Trap Doubles, Super Sporting and Sporting Clays.

Jordan Sapp won the Men’s Combined Skeet trophy after breaking 199/200 targets. Additionally, he was runner-up in A Class Men’s Super Sporting.

Not to be outdone, Madeline Corbin secured the Women’s Combined Skeet trophy with 196/200 targets. She also won second place in both AA Class Women’s American Skeet and AA Class American Trap, along with a first place performance in AA Class Women’s Skeet Doubles.

Joshua Corbin came in first in both AA Class Sporting Clays and AA Class Men’s Super Sporting.

Taylor Dale was runner-up in A Class Women’s American Skeet, while Marin McKinney tipped the A Class Women’s Skeet Doubles leaderboard.

“Making the podium at nationals is always an accomplishment,” Hillsdale College Head Shotgun Coach Jordan Hintz said. “A lot has to go right at an event this long with so many disciplines. I’m so proud of all our athletes, especially the seniors and freshmen, even if the outcome was not quite what we wanted. We’ll be back next year and hungrier than ever.”
