SPARTA, Ill. — Team Remington’s Jason Krause won the Grand American Handicap Championship at the World Shooting and Recreational Complex in August, adding a second ATA World title in as many years after taking the Singles crown at the 2025 Grand.
Krause, 43, of Henderson, Nebraska, shot 99 of 100 to reach the shoot-off, then broke 23 of 25 to claim the ring. He described the final box as one of the most nerve-racking he has shot, and said knowing he was capable of winning brought its own pressure the second time around.
The Handicap is the event that closes the Grand American each year and remains its marquee title. Krause noted that a number of exceptional shooters have never taken it. He competed with Remington Nitro 27 No. 7.5 loads at 1,235 fps.
“Winning the Handicap is special, it is the ‘Grand Daddy’ of them all, and to win this one is a tremendous honor,” Krause said.
Krause plans a short break before heading to the Heartland Grand in Iowa and then the Southwestern Grand in Kansas.
Other Team Remington shooters posted results across this year’s Grand American program. Aaron Willoughby won a Handicap event. Zach Nannini and Ian Lawrence each finished top five in Doubles. Barrett Debrie won the World Doubles Sub-Junior title with Garrett Channing runner-up, and the two finished in the same order in Sub-Junior High Over All. Sandra Jo Jack took the Kubota Doubles in Lady II along with several other top finishes.
The 127th Grand American ran July 29 through August 8. Full results are available at shootata.com. Learn more about Remington Ammunition at remington.com.
