Team SIG Captain Max Michel has won the USPSA (United States Practical Shooting Association) Carry Optics National Championship for the fourth straight year. The match was held in St. George, UT, in September. Not only was this Michel's fourth USPSA Carry Optics title, it also notched his 12th overall USPSA victory at the national level. Additionally, to close out the 2019 season he took top honors at the USPSA Area 59 Championship in Rosenberg, TX.

As carry optics has exponentially grown in popularity over the last few years, Max Michel has been at the forefront of not only competition with them, but also in aiding SIG Sauer with research and development. The new SIG Romeo3 Max red dot, which bears his name, is a great example of this trend of competitive shooters aiding in the development of new products.

For his gear, at the 2019 USPSA Carry Optics National Championship Michel was using the SIG P320 X-Five Legion with SIG 9mm 147-grain Match Elite ammunition. His optic was the aforementioned Romeo3 Max red dot.

"In the 2019 season I began competing with the newly introduced P320 X-Five Legion and the Romeo3 Max, and the combination, along with the SIG Match Elite Ammunition really helped to elevate my competition," said Michel.

Great gear is essential for victory in the shooting sports, but Michel is quick to point out he couldn't be the successful competitive shooter that he is without the help of loved ones, as well as the assistance of his partners in the industry.

"I honestly couldn’t do what I do without the love and support from my family, sponsors, trainer, and close friends. Thank you all for the sacrifice and dedication you gave to helping me reach the top each year—I share this victory with each of you!" said Michel, via his Facebook page.
