The first Mid-Atlantic Rifle Conference (MAC) rankings of the 2025-2026 season have been released as all eight programs have now fired in conference competition.
Leading the way are reigning Mid-Atlantic Rifle Conference Champions Mount Aloysius College with a team aggregate average of 4533.33 in MAC competition. The Mounties also possess conference-high averages and single-match scores for team air rifle and team smallbore at 2299.33 (2305 single score) and 2234 (2251 single score), respectively. Looking to repeat her 2025 MAC Air Rifle Achievement Award, Mount Aloysius’s Molly Miller currently sits atop the individual conference leaderboard in air rifle average (586.67) and holds the single-match conference high score so far this year with a 591 fired on October 26 at Army West Point. All five members of the Mount Aloysius squad rank in the top 10 individually for smallbore and the top 15 for air rifle.
Schreiner University currently holds the second highest aggregate average at 4397.33. The Mountaineers sit in second for team smallbore average (2140) and third for air rifle (2257.33). Newcomer Molly Mitchell tops the MAC rookie leaderboard in smallbore with an average of 560.33, good for fourth overall in the conference. Mitchell also ranks third for rookies and seventh overall in air rifle. MAC All-Conference Second Team honoree Cora Anderson additionally finds herself in the top 10 individuals for both events, sitting at seventh in smallbore and ninth in air rifle. Team captain Isabella Evans, ranked in the top 20 in both guns, rounds out a strong trio for the Mountaineers in just their second season competing at the NCAA level.
John Jay College takes third in aggregate average so far after a strong season opener at Virginia Military Institute in which the rifle team fired a 4374. The Bloodhounds’ air rifle team score of 2285, the fourth best single score in the MAC this season behind Mount Aloysius’s three matches, puts them in second for air rifle average. The performance was bolstered by rookies Mahek Dalwala and Cassidy Derosia, who currently rank third and fifth individually in the event, respectively. Not only that, Dalwala is one of five MAC athletes this season to eclipse the 580 mark in air rifle and the only rookie to do so. John Jay’s smallbore team score of 2089 was good for fifth overall in the rankings. Senior Danny Canning, the 2025 MAC Elite Scholar and a dual All-MAC Second Team selection last season, ranks sixth and eighth in air rifle and smallbore to lead the team.
MIT sits in fourth with an overall team aggregate average of 4371. Topping the Engineers in individual averages is sophomore Eleanor Yang, who ranks second for air rifle (583) and 10th for smallbore (549) in the conference standings. Rookie William Knowlton ranks in the top 20 overall for individuals in both events, as well as fourth and fifth for rookies in smallbore and air rifle, respectively. MIT possesses the fourth highest team aggregate and team smallbore single scores in the conference, 4419 and 2158, respectively, behind Mount Aloysius’s three matches.
Norwich University, powered by rookie Meghan Smith, sits in fifth with an aggregate average of 4348. Smith leads the team in average for both events at 541.33 for smallbore and 558.00 for air rifle, which places her individually in the top 20 for each event. The Cadets currently rank fourth in team smallbore (2136.67), the event in which they took bronze at the 2025 MAC Championship. For air rifle, they sit in fifth with an average of 2215.33.
Sixth in the current team standings across the board are the Rhody Rams after firing a 4059 (1977 smallbore, 2082 air rifle) in their season opener at MIT. Sophia Wood leads the Rams with the current conference-high single-match smallbore score of 574, ranking first in the MAC for the event. Wood, the only MAC athlete so far to break 570 in smallbore this year, is on the hunt for a second MAC Smallbore Achievement Award after earning the inaugural honor last season. Alex Travison adds to the Rams’ depth as the 11th ranked athlete in the conference for both events.
Rounding out the MAC conference standings are the Coast Guard Academy and SUNY Maritime.
The Coast Guard Bears hold an aggregate average of 3805 (1852 smallbore, 1953 air rifle). Coast Guard is led by Annabelle Schneider, an at-large invitee to last year’s conference tournament, as she currently sits in 18th individually for smallbore (536) and 14th for air rifle (563.50).
SUNY Maritime possesses a smallbore average of 1708.50 and air rifle average of 1852 for a combined aggregate average of 3560.50. Rookie Alex Samuilov leads the Privateers in smallbore (450.50) and veteran Sharath Peddapalli leads the team in air rifle (487.50) after their opening weekend in Plattsburgh, New York.
The top six teams each in air rifle and smallbore and an additional five at-large invitees per gun will qualify for the 2026 Mid-Atlantic Rifle Conference Championship Tournament to be held at MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on February 28 and March 1. These selections will be announced at the conclusion of the NCAA regular season on Monday, February 24, 2026. All-MAC Team selections and other regular season award winners will be announced at the Conference Championship.
