In a world where function and form rarely meet in equal measure, Cabot Guns’ new Apocalypse Max chambered in 9 mm Luger aims to dominate both realms, blending tactical prowess with the aesthetics of a forged sculpture. This isn’t just a gun—it’s a love letter to metallurgy and unapologetic American luxury.

A reimagining of Cabot’s 2020 Apocalypse model, the Apocalypse Max evolves the single-stack foundation into a modern double-stack 1911 platform, boasting 17+1 round capacity (or 20+1 with extended mags) and a full 5-inch government-length match barrel. It’s the first in Cabot’s series to combine this configuration with a full-length dustcover rail, subtly shifting the pistol’s center of gravity forward to tame muzzle rise and deliver a flatter shooting experience.
But that’s only the beginning.
The most eye-catching feature is the Damascus steel slide, forged and etched to expose swirling thumbprint-like waves—no two pistols are alike. Hand-blended cuts frame the curves of the gun, revealing polished highs and black DLC-coated lows, like moonlight reflecting off obsidian. The contrasting finish doesn’t just catch the eye—it anchors the slide’s complex geometry in visible texture.
Functionality doesn’t get lost in the show. Underneath that exotic steel is a full stainless frame and grip module, beveled for lightning-fast reloads and crafted from 416 stainless. The Apocalypse Max is red-dot ready, compatible with Trijicon’s RMR footprint (RMR, SRO, RCR, RMR HD) and optionally ships with factory-installed optics. If you prefer traditional irons, Cabot’s red fiber-optic front sight and stainless ledge rear sight provide crisp targeting out of the box.
Available barrel finishes include polished DLC, natural stainless or a flamboyant gold titanium nitride. Suppressor fans will appreciate the option for a hand-fitted threaded barrel, though the standard flush-cut, crown-profile variant is a thing of beauty in itself.

Weighing in at a hefty 44 ounces unloaded, the Cabot Guns Apocalypse Max is not for the faint of wrist—but for those chasing beauty and ballistic perfection, it may be the last 1911 you’ll ever want.
Priced at $9,495, and limited to just 100 units in 2026, the Apocalypse Max is equal parts bespoke tool and end-times trophy. Delivery begins in the first quarter of the new year.
“This is more than a firearm—it’s a statement of the state of American craftsmanship,” says Cabot Guns founder and CEO Rob Bianchin. “The Apocalypse Max embodies our commitment to pushing the boundaries of what a 1911 can be, delivering a pistol that’s as unique as its owner.”
