A new line of 1911s from Devil Dog Arms (DDA) includes models in 3.5-, 4.25- and 5-inch sizes, in either standard or tactical rail versions (4.25-inch two-tone tactical version is pictured above). The tactical rail models have a Picatinny rail with three slots thats mounted forward of the trigger guard. There will be models in both 9mm and .45 ACP calibers. The capacity for the 9mm is 10+1, and 8+1 for .45 ACP.

The pistol frames are manufactured from 4140 domestic investment cast steel with 22LPI front strap checkering and DDA’s own NBD Grips. Additionally, the slide is heat-treated and machined from 4140 domestic billet steel with a custom flat top/45 degree design that includes oversized front and rear serrations. All DDA 1911s feature match-grade, heat-treated, button rifled and double stress relieved barrels that are machined from 416 stainless steel. They are hand fitted to a match-grade barrel bushing. Also standard is the 3-hole aluminum trigger (with 3.5- to 4-lb. trigger pull), and Kensight DFS fixed white-dot sights.

The full line, when available, will be offered in either black or flat dark earth colors. There will be limited selections in two-tone stainless steel and full nickel boron configurations. Pricing is $999-$1,350, depending on the model. The new 1911s will be available for purchase beginning in February 2018.

“It’s truly an honor to launch such a unique interpretation of the classic 1911 design,” said Tommy Thacker, president and CEO of DDA. He added, “Every detail of this distinguished platform has been researched and engineered to provide shooters a unique blend of classic function, modern reliability and accuracy.”
