Starline Brass recently announced the addition of two rifle calibers to its brass lineup, .22 ARC and .338 ARC.

More from Starline: “.22 ARC and .338 ARC brass is produced to the same demanding quality control standards that Starline has become known for and is available for much less than the price of comparable quality cases.”

The .22 ARC cartridge is essentially a 6.5 Grendel case necked down to accept .22-caliber bullets to use the high-BC, heavy-for-caliber bullets in .224 diameter, as well as being able to push the lighter .224 bullets faster than the .223 Remington. This gives shooters a versatile cartridge for either long-range target shooting or varmint hunting that cycles well in both bolt-action and AR-platform rifles.

As for .338 ARC, this cartridge was developed to compete with .300 Blackout and 8.6 Blackout for mostly suppressed, subsonic use. It can run heavier .338 caliber bullets like the 8.6 Blackout, so it has more energy than the .300 Blackout, but is still able to run in the AR-15 platform, unlike the 8.6. Additionally, .338 ARC is capable of supersonic loadings, but keep in mind that many of the .338 hunting-type bullets are designed for large magnum calibers, and may not perform properly on game at the slower velocities. There are companies selling bullets designed to expand at the subsonic velocities that would work well in this cartridge for hunting applications.

The price for .22 ARC cases is 250 cases for $187.00, 500 cases for $349.50 and 1,000 for $653.

For the .338 ARC cases, the price jumps up a bit: 250 cases for $197.50, 500 for $369.50 and 1,000 for $690.
