The Amateur Trapshooting Association's 38th Annual Western Satellite Grand American runs June 2-7, 2026, at Vernal Rod and Gun Club in northeastern Utah. The six-day tournament features 13 events across the three ATA disciplines—singles, handicap and doubles—shot across 12 tournament fields plus a dedicated practice trap. Elite Shotguns returns as the Signature Sponsor.
Tuesday's preliminary day opens with 100-target singles, handicap and doubles events, followed by a cornhole tournament and nacho bar in the lodge. Midweek pairs competition with social events: Wednesday adds an appetizer night and the first Randy and Sharon Grilz Game Night, while Thursday brings the Krieghoff International Handicap, ladies bingo and Dave Mansell's annual shrimp and crawfish boil. Friday stacks the Doubles Championship and the Caesar Guerini Preliminary Handicap Championship before a taco dinner and a black-light team flurry. The weekend anchors the program with Saturday's 200-target Browning Singles Championship and Sunday's Winchester Ammunition Handicap Championship, which pays trophies through seventh place. The High-All-Around combines 400 targets across Events 10, 12 and 13, and the High-Over-All covers 1,100 targets across Events 4-13. Bruce Bradley took the 2025 HAA title and Sharred Oaks won the HOA.
The program also includes a $15,000 VRGC Multi-Event Lewis, with $3,000 starting purses in the singles, doubles, handicap, HAA and HOA pools, plus 33 custom-engraved gold coins courtesy of Craig and Sharon Hart and Seven Oaks Fine Jewelers. Classification, squadding and cashiering open at 8:00 a.m. daily, with events starting at 10:00 a.m.
Pre-squadding through sosclays.com opened March 6 at $2 per post per event. On-site RV camping is available—check in at the clubhouse on arrival and contact Stacy Hawley at (435) 655-1502 for site details. Vernal offers a range of hotel options within a short drive of the club.
