Lucid Optics has announced that the company will sponsor 3-gun competitor Katelynn Wheeler.

A high school student based in Missouri, Katelynn Wheeler is a growing presence in the 3-Gun competitive shooting community. She first gained interest in the sport after helping at matches for her local shooting range. Two years ago, she had her first match at the Blue Line 3-Gun Event in Cross Timbers, Missouri.

“The range officers and match builders threw me in as one of their own. Not only was I able to shoot with the match staff, but I was able to [work as a Range Officer at] the match as well,” said Wheeler. “This had become the best experience I had had with the shooting sports and the minute I pulled the trigger; I knew it was what I wanted to do for years to come.”

Since that time, Wheeler has continued to shoot in 3-Gun matches, gaining experience and also increasing her love for the sport. She has placed in every match that she’s gone to, and hopes to continue improving her skills this season.

Additionally, Wheeler holds honors in her high school academic and extracurricular career. She boasts a 3.968 GPA and is an Honor Roll member, Principal’s Award recipient and Student Council Member. She is active in Future Business Leaders of America, Family Career and Community Leaders of America and Future Farmers of America. She also has 13 years of experience in livestock showing with numerous awards under her belt.

“Lucid Optics is proud to sponsor Katelynn Wheeler in her 3-Gun competitive shooting journey,” said Jason Wilson of Lucid Optics. “We believe in the commitment, work ethic and appreciation for the firearms industry that competitive shooting sports provides. We are happy to help a younger generation to embrace these values while pursuing a passion for the sport.”
