Berger Bullets recently announced their new Match-Grade Ammunition. The Berger Match-Grade Ammunition line includes Target, Hunting and Tactical applications loaded for 6.5mm Creedmoor, .260 Rem., .308 Win., .300 Win. Mag., .300 Norma Mag. and .338 Lapua Mag.

The 6.5mm Creedmoor Target loads will be of interest to PRS and long range shooters. The two offerings, 120-grain Lapua Scenar-L and 140-grain Berger Hybrid Target, have no muzzle velocity or energy readings available at the moment, but we certainly expect them to be zippy loads.

There’s plenty of information you see now on the Berger website, including muzzle velocity, muzzle energy, and G1 and G7 ballistic coefficient data. The info is divided into the three application specific sub-lines (Target, Hunting and Tactical) and then by caliber for easy reading. Not all the data is available now, as the Berger research and development team is still testing.

The company had this to say about the new ammo line:

Berger Match-Grade Ammunition provides the most demanding hunter, competitive shooter and Mil/LE warfighter a precision-built performance product unequaled in today’s premium ammunition market. Each cartridge is assembled with the world’s finest components to exacting tolerances, purposefully dimensioned to maximize the results of your favorite shooting discipline.

Off the shelf ammo meant for serious rifle enthusiasts requires emulating precision handloads. Instilling the same confidence as handloads does in customers requires manufacturers to use the best quality components, period. Today, shooters can afford to be choosy, so smart companies like Berger know they need to make quality ammo available at a good price.
