New from Leupold is the DeltaPoint Micro (MSRP: $519.99), a fully enclosed, low-profile red-dot sight designed specifically for concealed carry and personal defense. (Current DeltaPoint Micro models fit Glock and Smith & Wesson M&P handguns only.)

The new Leupold DeltaPoint Micro mounts directly to the rear dovetail.

The DeltaPoint Micro compact red-dot sight is a gamechanger for pistols with smaller frames and lower sight profiles. Mounted directly to the rear sight dovetail, the DeltaPoint Micro sits at the same height as factory iron sights and aligns the red dot with the front sight, providing for quick target acquisition. There is no need to buy aftermarket iron sights or have the slide milled.

The DeltaPoint Micro is 2.25 inches long and 1.25 inches tall. Weight is 1.1 ounces. Smith & Wesson M&P model pictured.

Eight levels of illumination provide users the ability to adjust the brightness of the 3-MOA dot to match current conditions. For durability and longevity, the diode (LED) is located inside the housing, protecting it from moisture, dirt and debris. Leupold’s Motion Sensor Technology will put the optic into sleep mode after five minutes of inactivity. The company says that “a single battery provides 3.5 years of constant runtime on the medium brightness setting.”

Built from lightweight aircraft-grade aluminum, the DeltaPoint Micro also includes a spring-actuated battery compartment, which means that no tools are required for a battery swap. And in case the battery dies and no spare is available, this optic can act like a ghost ring sight by placing the front-sight in the bottom third of the window, and use the two milled holes on the back to align with the front sight.
