Real Avid is now shipping the Smart-Torq and X3 Driver System, a torque and driver platform designed for firearm owners who mount their own optics, swap parts and handle routine maintenance at home. The system ships in five purpose-built kits that pair precision torque control with a versatile ratcheting driver, covering everything from scope ring installation to general screwdriver tasks.

At the center of the lineup is the X3 Driver, a multi-function ratcheting driver with a 72-position ratchet mechanism. That fine-tooth count means the driver can engage in tight spaces where a wider throw would leave the user stuck. A knurled bit rotation wheel at the back of the driver allows one-finger alignment of the bit, keeping the other hand free to hold a component in place. The X3 Driver also accepts a modular T-handle that installs perpendicular to the driver body for quick adjustments and by-feel torque applications. A straight-shank bit driver for quarter-inch bits rounds out the package for traditional screwdriver work. The handles are weighted and finished with high-traction knurling for a secure grip across both light and high-torque applications.

The torque side of the system comes in two configurations. The Smart-Torq Adjustable Limiter is a precision torque wrench that adjusts from 15 to 65 inch-pounds in one-inch-pound increments. That range covers the most common torque specifications for scope rings, mounts and action screws.

Smart-Torq Fixed Limiters take a different approach, offering six pre-set torque values at 15, 20, 25, 30, 45 and 65 inch-pounds. Each limiter is a quarter-inch drive unit that works with the included bits to deliver consistent torque on critical fasteners without the need to dial in a setting.

Applying the correct torque matters. Under-torque a scope ring and the optic shifts under recoil. Over-torque it and the tube can deform, the mount can strip or the receiver threads can be damaged. The same applies to action screws, guard screws and aftermarket accessory hardware. A calibrated torque tool removes the guesswork.

Real Avid is shipping the system across five kits.

The Smart-Torq Adjustable Limiter and X3 Driver Kit includes the X3 Driver, a 12-piece bit set, a hex-to-square adapter, a half-inch socket and the adjustable torque limiter at an MSRP of $119.99.

The Smart-Torq Fixed Limiter and X3 Driver Kit packages the X3 Driver with 12 driver bits in hex, Torx, flat and Phillips configurations, a quarter-inch hex-to-square adapter, a half-inch socket and all six fixed torque limiters at an MSRP of $164.99.

Three additional X3 Driver Gunsmithing Bit Sets are available in 13-piece, 52-piece and 57-piece configurations, with MSRPs ranging from $39.99 to $59.99. The 52-piece set includes both standard driver bits and a range of sockets.

All kits ship in either a durable zipper case or a hard case with a clear lid for organized storage and quick identification of contents. For more information, visit realavid.com.
