At SHOT Show 2026, Winchester announced the release of American Lever Range ammunition, a new line developed specifically for lever-action rifles. The product is aimed at shooters who regularly use lever guns for recreational and range shooting.

Lever-action rifles have seen renewed interest in recent years, particularly among shooters looking for traditional platforms chambered in widely available calibers. Winchester states that American Lever Range ammunition was engineered with lever-action operation in mind, focusing on reliable feeding, consistent cycling and repeatable performance during extended range sessions.

According to Winchester, the ammunition uses bullet profiles intended to feed smoothly through tubular magazines and lever-action systems. The loads also feature modern propellants formulated to reduce barrel and action fouling, along with consistent powder charges and bullet construction to support uniform shot-to-shot results.

At launch, Winchester’s new American Lever ammunition is available in several calibers, including a .30-30 Winchester load featuring a 150-grain open-tip bullet packaged in a 20-round box with an MSRP of $21.99. The .357 Magnum offering uses a 158-grain jacketed soft point bullet and comes in a 50-round box priced at $28.99, while the .44 Remington Magnum load features a 240-grain jacketed soft point bullet, also packaged in a 50-round box, with an MSRP of $40.99. The .45 Long Colt option is loaded with a 250-grain lead bullet and is sold in a 50-round box for $49.99. Completing the lineup is the .45-70 Government load, which features a 300-grain jacketed hollow point bullet packaged in a 20-round box and carries an MSRP of $49.99.

Winchester lists muzzle velocities ranging from approximately 900 fps for the .45 Colt 250-grain load to 1,880 fps for the .45-70 Government 300-grain load. The .30-30 Winchester 150-grain load is rated at 2,390 fps.

“The lever gun has seen a resurgence in the last five years,” said Kyle Masinelli, Senior Director of Product Innovation and Strategy for Winchester Ammunition. “While most ammunition can work in lever-action firearms, you really need purpose-built ammunition to get the most performance out of your lever gun. American Lever Range is intentionally designed to feed and cycle optimally out of a lever action and priced at a value that you can run it all day.”

With American Lever Range ammunition, Winchester expands its lever-action ammunition offerings by providing a dedicated option intended for consistent range use across several of the most common lever-gun calibers.
