Score Sheets is a free service that will help share the news about your club’s matches. All clubs are encouraged to send us local match reports for the monthly Score Sheets section in the digital magazine.

The Shooting Sports USA Score Sheets section is your chance to showcase local matches to a national audience. Whether it’s a club shoot or a state championship, we want to hear from you.

Step 1: Use the Right Form

Download the current Reporter’s Worksheet from the Shooting Sports USA website. This fillable PDF helps ensure you include all the essentials—competitor names, scores, hometowns and club details. Need more room? Use a separate form.

Step 2: Tell a Great Story

A strong match report does more than list scores—it captures the spirit of the event. Here are a few tips:

  • Lead with the highlights: Who won, and how? Was there a close finish or a record-breaking performance?
  • Add color: Mention weather conditions, crowd reactions or unique challenges.
  • Include gear details: Readers love to know what equipment top shooters used.
  • Quote participants: A short quote from a competitor or match director adds personality.
  • Keep it concise: Aim for clarity and flow. Avoid long lists.

Step 3: Be Complete and Clear

Avoid delays by filling out every section legibly. The most common issues are missing info, hard-to-read handwriting and no contact details.

Step 4: Include Photos

Photos bring your report to life. Action shots, award ceremonies and team photos are all welcome and increase your chances of being featured.

Step 5: Email Your Submission

Send your completed worksheet and photos to: [email protected].

Email is preferred over postal mail for faster processing.

Score Sheets
Let your fellow competitors know how your event went, beginning with who won, how they won and what equipment they used. In addition, be sure to describe the highlights of your match.

What Happens Next?

Submissions are usually published within four to eight months, depending on completeness and seasonal volume. Incomplete reports may be held for up to a year.
