For years, electric clay throwers have followed the same formula, with heavy car batteries and wired remotes. The Caldwell Claymore Connect takes a different path, combining digital control with a design that prioritizes portability and simplicity.
Unveiled earlier this month at SHOT Show 2026 in Las Vegas, the Claymore Connect is the newest addition to the Claymore family. With an MSRP of $549.99, it’s positioned as a serious upgrade rather than a cosmetic refresh.
At its core, the Claymore Connect is a ground-based launcher for standard clay targets, but its defining feature is built-in Bluetooth. Paired with the Caldwell Clays app for iOS and Android, the launcher can be operated wirelessly from up to 100 yards away. Users can create custom target pairs, patterns and flurries, or even run complex presentations without cords or wired remotes. The app can simultaneously control up to 10 compatible Caldwell smart launchers, including the Claymore Connect and the ClayCopter Surface-to-Air.
Power comes from a 12-volt lithium-ion battery that’s small enough to fit in a pocket yet capable of throwing more than 350 clays on a single charge. The battery displays remaining charge level and is compatible across Caldwell electronic launchers. A wireless handheld remote with a 50-foot range is also included for those who prefer physical controls.
Weighing just 35 pounds including the battery, the Claymore Connect leans heavily into mobility. Folding legs make transport and storage straightforward, while a 50-clay capacity supports both American standard and international targets. A quick-adjust lever allows for up to 35 degrees of launch angle, and an adjustable spring tension knob sets target speed and distance out to 55 yards.
The app extends functionality further with hands-free voice launch, preset target pairs, customizable flurries and the ability to build tournament-style challenges or virtual sporting courses almost anywhere. It’s a shift away from single-purpose machines toward a modular, software-driven approach that feels more at home in 2026 than in decades past.
