Springfield Armory has refreshed its TRP family of pistols with six new .45 ACP models.

More from Springfield Armory: “The TRP offers fully featured platforms specifically designed and built for demanding 1911 enthusiasts. Drawing inspiration from the Springfield Armory Professional 1911, TRP pistols undergo meticulous hand fitting for both form and function. And with these six new models, shooters have a modern take on a proven classic.”

The six new .45 ACP TRP 1911 models are made up of two Classic models, two Rail models and two Carry Contour models. The Classic pistols are offered in five- and 4¼-inch versions, with both featuring all-steel construction, along with two-piece magwells. The Rail models are both five-inch all-steel guns with two-piece magwells and a Picatinny rail on the dustcover. They are offered in Black or Coyote Brown finishes. The final two Carry Contour feature 4¼-inch barrels along with a bobbed, lightweight aluminum frame for ease of concealment. These two variants, which do not feature extended magwells, are also offered in Black or Coyote Brown.

The art of building a TRP demands a hands-on approach. Each TRP pistol begins with a forged frame and slide for strength and durability. Each pair is then hand-selected for slide-to-frame fit and numbered to marry them with their matching components throughout the build process.

All TRP pistols feature finely cut sighting plane serrations along the top of the slide, which offers the shooter an enhanced sight picture and maximum light diffusion. In addition, for precision even in the worst lighting conditions, all six TRP pistols are outfitted with a tritium three-dot sight system.

For the new TRP pistol’s grip, Springfield Armory tapped VZ Grips, choosing the combat-ready Hydra series. The deep relief channels provide aggressive purchase without being overly sharp, while exposing the layers and patterns of the G-10 material. Plus, all TRP pistols feature 20 lines-per-inch checkering on the frame for an enhanced grip with wet or gloved hands.

MSRP ranges from $1,899 to $1,999, depending on the model. Learn more at springfield-armory.com.
