Registration for the 2017 Smith & Wesson IDPA Winter Nationals will open on December 11, 2016. Long considered to be the season opener for the IDPA competition season, this year's championship is the 20th anniversary of this premier event.

IDPA Executive Director, Joyce Wilson, said, "Smith & Wesson and the IDPA have been great partners for two decades. We are proud that the work we do results in one of the most anticipated matches on the calendar. We expect the match will sell out in just a few hours. It's great to be a part of an event that generates that kind of excitement."

Director of Sales and Marketing Operations, Shaun Phelan, said, "Smith & Wesson has been a proud supporter of IDPA since the beginning. We can't think of a better way to celebrate our twenty years together than to highlight the collaboration that goes into IDPA clubs and matches. So, for the first time, we have invited clubs to design and build all the match stages. We want to use this opportunity to expand our partnership with all of the regional IDPA clubs. Smith & Wesson will be recognizing design teams with a number of new awards at the staff banquet."

As in years past, the match will give returning competitors priority registration. Registration information can be accessed on the IDPA website by searching for major matches—or directly at: www.idpa.com/compete/competitiondetails/26654.
