Since 1969, the Trapshooting Hall of Fame and Museum, located at the World Shooting and Recreational Complex in Sparta, IL, has been the Amateur Trapshooting Association’s (ATA) operation dedicated to preserving the sport’s rich history. This mammoth repository of shooting facts and memorabilia is on permanent display for everyone’s discovery and enjoyment. 2018 marks the Hall of Fame’s Golden Anniversary.

Trapshooting predates the Civil War
Did you know that the origins of trapshooting predate the Civil War by 30 years?

The museum was constructed entirely with private funding. Construction loans were needed for building, and although many generous donations helped pay off most of the loans, it was not enough to pay for all of them. There’s never been a grassroots effort to raise funds to pay off the remaining construction costs until now.

Here’s how you can help. Please consider making a donation to the Trapshooting Hall of Fame by January 31, 2018. You will be helping to preserve and protect the history of this wonderful sporta true American original. Future generations deserve to learn about the accomplishments, ideas and innovations that led to the great tradition of trapshooting competition today.

Homegrounds by Jim Morris
Homegrounds by Jim Morris covers the history of ATA competition up to 2005.

All donors will be recognized on the Hall of Fame Website and will receive a letter of thanks from the Hall of Fame. Additionally, all who donate $100 or more will receive a copy of Homegrounds by Jim Morris. This book chronicles the history of the ATA, trapshooting and the Grand American World Trapshooting Tournament from 1924 to 2005.

The ATA Trapshooting Hall of Fame is a 501(3) not-for-profit organization. Learn more at www.traphof.org
