Springfield Armory's new XD-M Elite 3.8-inch Compact OSP .45 ACP carry pistol is a potent, yet packable defensive pistol that can be purchased equipped with the HEX Dragonfly optic as an option. As an optics-ready pistol, prospective buyers can alternatively add their own red-dot optic.

As the name implies, the hammer-forged, 1:16-inch twist barrel is 3.8 inches long. The aforementioned optics-ready slide is made from forged steel with a melonite finish. This pistol also boasts a 10+1 round capacity with the .45 ACP cartridge. Additionally, the HEX Dragonfly red-dot sight has a 3.5 MOA dot and is built on a machined aluminum body.

The XD-M Elite Compact also includes a removable extended and flared “short” magwell. With the removable magwell, shooters can convert the pistol from a compact- to a full-size frame with a 13+1 capacity with ease. Extended magazines are available at the Springfield Armory website.

Price for the Springfield Armory XD-M Elite 3.8-inch Compact OSP .45 ACP pistol with the included HEX Dragonfly optic is $843, and $653 for only the pistol.
