JP Enterprises shooter Andre DeSautel posted a match-winning performance at the 2024 IDPA National Championship, held at the CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park in Talladega, Alabama, this past weekend.

The match serves as the high point of the season for this sport every year. A 15-stage competition, the 2024 IDPA National Championship was held August 15-17.

Competing in the Pistol-Caliber Carbine division, DeSautel not only secured the division win, but also took the overall match victory with his JP Enterprises JP-5, triumphing over a field of more than 350 top-level competitors across eight divisions. He walked away from the match with a final score of 180.82. DeSautel’s score was about three points ahead of the match runner-up, Brian Wice.

A relatively recent addition to IDPA, the Pistol-Caliber Carbine division has grown in popularity among competitors in recent years.

“This was a very satisfying match,” DeSautel said. “I’ve put a lot of focus on IDPA this year, and this was a great follow-up to the Iowa State Championship last week. Just a great event with a lot of great shooters, and I was happy to make JP look good.”

John Paul, the founder of JP Enterprises, shared his excitement about DeSautel’s winning performance at the 2024 IDPA Nationals.

“Andre’s win at the IDPA Nationals was phenomenal,” he said. “I’ve known him as an outstanding USPSA shooter for years, and he .really showed his flexibility and maturity as a shooter by being able to adopt the IDPA mindset. This win is a testament to his skill, dedication and to the growing place for PCC in this sport.”
