Some wins carry more weight than others. For Cameron Hicks, the FITASC title at the 2026 Seminole Cup wasn’t just another line on the résumé—it was a family affair two decades in the making.
Hicks, a Federal Ammunition-sponsored shooter, topped a field of 205 competitors to win the FITASC event with a score of 95 out of 100 at Broadfield, Sea Island’s 5,800-acre Sporting Club and Lodge in Woodbine, Georgia. He also claimed the EZGO Shootout Qualifier with a 93 out of 100, walking away from the five-day tournament with $2,407 in total earnings. The Seminole Cup ran February 24 through March 1 and drew more than 600 shooters.
But it was the FITASC victory that meant the most.
“My dad won the same event in 2003, and I’ve gotten close a few times,” Hicks said. “I had to be perfect in the last and hardest parcour to get into a shoot off and then won it. Achieving this same victory brings a great sense of pride to have this father-and-son connection.”
The North Carolina-based shooter has been one of the more consistent FITASC competitors on the circuit in recent years. He won the Main Event High Over All at the Gamaliel Cup, and the Seminole Cup FITASC victory adds another marquee result to a growing collection.
Hicks was shooting Federal’s new Master Class at the Seminole Cup, a competition-level sporting clays load that the company introduced last year. His winning load was the 12-gauge, 1-ounce offering at 1,300 fps in 7.5 shot, built around Federal’s customized Podium wad, straight-wall hull and high-antimony lead shot.
The Seminole Cup marks the second significant win at a major sporting clays event using Master Class. Hicks also used the load when he won the 2025 Gamaliel Cup Main Event High Over All—meaning the product has now been on top of the podium at two of the NSCA circuit’s notable events with the same shooter pulling the trigger.
About the Seminole Cup
The Seminole Cup is one of the most distinctive events on the sporting clays calendar. Broadfield’s sprawling grounds, with live oaks, towering pines and palmetto-lined courses, provide a setting that feels more like a Southern retreat than a tournament venue. The five-day format includes FITASC, sub-gauge events, the EZGO Shootout, Super Sporting and a two-day Main Event where shooters compete for the championship title. This year’s edition welcomed competitors from across the country for what has become one of the early-season fixtures on the NSCA schedule.
