In a move set to modernize and broaden its reach, the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) is transferring its auction and direct-sale listings to GunBroker.com, a major online firearms marketplace. The transition will officially begin in early September 2025.

For decades, CMP has served as a trusted outlet for surplus military rifles, parts and shooting accessories, particularly those tied to American marksmanship heritage. Starting September 4 (for “Buy Now” listings) and September 8 (for standard auctions), all new listings will be hosted exclusively on GunBroker’s platform.

Beginning in September 2025, all CMP Auction and “Buy Now” items will be listed and sold through GunBroker.com.

The CMP’s current auction site will shut down on Friday, August 29, 2025. Going forward, visitors will find a dedicated CMP page on GunBroker, offering improved navigation and a more integrated shopping and bidding experience.

The new CMP page is already live on the GunBroker website.

This partnership allows CMP to focus on sourcing and offering historical firearms and gear, while leveraging GunBroker’s infrastructure to handle the complexities of online auctions. For users, it means broader exposure to CMP’s unique inventory and access to GunBroker’s support network.

New users must register with GunBroker to participate, and CMP will continue offering updates via its website and support team to ease the transition.

Though the platform is changing, CMP promises the quality and authenticity of its listings remain the same—just now with a wider audience and a smoother process.
