Team SIG member Lena Miculek was named the Ladies Division Champion at the 2017 Starlight 3-Gun Championship. Held at the Copper Head Creek Gun Club in Marble Falls, TX, Miculek successfully defended her 2016 High Lady title—earning a $15,000 payday as the top female competitor at the match. Last year, Miculek earned High Lady honors at the NRA World Shooting Championship.

During the two-night event, competitors faced seven courses of fire completely in the dark. Miculek relied on her SIG Sauer M400 rifle and P320 pistol during challenging and intricate course layouts that required the use of lasers, lights and optics. Miculek faced a tough field of competitors and ever-changing weather conditions en route to her back-to-back Ladies Division wins at Starlight.

"It's a great feeling to win ... especially when you consider the extreme weather and the talented field of female shooters who competed this year," Miculek said about her victory. "Shooting in the dark is completely different and there are so many new variables such as rifle smoke, that play a big part in acquiring that perfect sight picture. To me, the key is all about staying patient and not going so quick that you lose focus. That part is especially hard, as I'm always trying to go as fast as possible at all times," she added.

In the race for the High Lady title, Miculek was able to outpace second place finisher Ashley Rheuark. She competed in a squad of female competitors—including Becky Yackley, Sky Killian and Lanny Barnes. Miculek finished the championship in 14th place overall.

"This year's Starlight 3-Gun Championship did not disappoint," said Miculek. "Not only was I able to compete with a group of ladies whom I respect and admire, but running around in the dark with lights, lasers and red dot sights just never gets old. I look forward to coming back next year and doing it all again."
