Every ounce hung off a muzzle changes how a rifle carries and balances, which is why suppressor makers keep chasing titanium and clever geometry. Gemtech’s answer is the Neutrino, a new .30-cal. can built around a fully 3D-printed Grade 5 titanium core and tube that lands at 8.8 ounces with its mount installed.

That figure puts the Neutrino among the lightest full-featured .30-caliber suppressors available, and the printing process is what makes it possible. Rather than machining and welding a stack of separate baffles, Gemtech prints the core and tube as optimized structures, tuning internal geometry for gas flow, sound performance and heat dissipation in ways traditional construction can't easily match. Strength-to-weight ratio gets the same treatment, since printed titanium lets designers put material only where the pressure demands it.

Gemtech, a Smith & Wesson brand, pitches the Neutrino toward backcountry hunters, and the logic tracks. A rifle that gets carried up ridgelines for days benefits most from a can that adds hearing protection and recoil reduction without turning the muzzle into a pendulum. But nothing about the design limits it to elk country. At 6.5 inches long and 1.625 inches in diameter, the Neutrino suits any shooter who wants full .30-cal. suppression without the heft, whether that’s on a precision rig, a tactical bolt gun or a do-everything hunting rifle.

Caliber coverage runs the practical gamut. The Neutrino is rated up to .300 PRC and handles .300 Win. Mag., .308 Win., 6.5 mm Creedmoor and other magnum cartridges in between. Mounting works two ways, with an included removable direct-thread 5/8x24 mount for the lightest possible setup and a Hub-compatible 1.375x24 rear interface that opens the door to the broad aftermarket of muzzle devices and quick-detach systems. A black high-temp Cerakote finish wraps the titanium for durability.

“By leveraging 3D printing technology, we can optimize baffle design, footprint and durability for an overall premium performance,” said Corey Beaudreau, Gemtech Product Manager.

MSRP is $899. For more on the Neutrino and Gemtech’s suppressor lineup, visit gemtech.com.
